Kedron SHS is the main high school on the Northside of Brisbane to offer specialist staff to support D/deaf students. For students who are D/deaf or have a hearing loss, there are a number of avenues of support available, facilitating equal access to both curriculum and extra curricula aspects of the Kedron SHS community.
We have a team of professionals that cater specifically for the Deaf and HoH students. These include
- Teachers of the Deaf (ToD)
- Educational Interpreters (EIs)
- Auslan Language Models (ALMs).
We also work with external organisations when required such as Australian Hearing. Our team also provide captioning services, speech to text and note-takers to ensure that the Deaf and HoH students have full access to both Unit and Mainstream subjects.
