At Kedron State High School, we firmly believe that our core business is your students' learning.
Our learning community is committed to inspiring all students to strive to shine so that they embrace their individual talents, reach their full potential, and contribute positively to society. We do this through the purposeful and targeted design and use of a range of Signature Practices which, together, make up the Kedron Way of Learning.
Predicated on the evidence base of the work of educational leaders such as Marzano, Wiliam, Ritchardt, Hattie, Fisher and Frey, and Sharratt, these practices include explicit strategies to create our learning culture, maintain high expectations for success, plan for explicit and targeted teaching, check for skills and understanding, and encourage collaboration, all designed to drive students' achievement, improvement and wellbeing.
The framework empowers staff to use a common language to underpin the design of learning programs that are highly effective and inclusive, as we transition to version 9 of the Australian Curriculum. We believe that student engagement comes from student agency, and this belief is at the heart of our work.
