Instrumental Music

For over 50 years Kedron State High School has proudly supported instrumental music as a fundamental curricular component of the school. Kedron's esteemed reputation for offering a high quality instrumental and vocal music program is driven through innovative course offerings, extra-curricular activities including music tours, camps and competitions, all driven by energetic, enthusiastic and talented staff, students and parents. Kedron's instrumental music program spans years 7-12 and include a diverse range of ensembles, concerts and experiences with a focus on delivering dynamic and innovative classroom music courses.

At Kedron we offer an instrumental music program that includes three concert bands (Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble and KEW), Big Band, Showband, String Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Guitar Alchemy, two choirs and a World Music Ensemble. Specialist teachers are also employed to tutor students enrolled in our harp and guitar and, complementing our ensemble program with instrumental diversity and developing quality chamber repertoire across a broad range of genres.

 

Continuing students from primary school are automatically enrolled into our Instrumental Music program at the commencement of Year 7.


Kedron Instrumental Music Supporters Group (KIMS)

Our KIMS (Kedron Instrumental Music Supporters) group meets twice a term and assists in coordination of our concerts and fundraising events. Please see the Calendar or the P&C Page of our website for more information regarding the dates for meetings.
