Youth health nurses provide a range of support options including but not limited to:
- Individual health consultations (Assessment, support, health information & referral options)
- Group health education & programming
- Promotion and cultivation of health awareness and health support services in the school, for mental, social & emotional, and physical heath.

Topics that School Based Youth Health Nurse helps with may include:
• Feeling sad, worried or angry
• Relationships and sexuality
• Healthy eating and exercise
• Personal or family problems
• Growth and development
• Smoking, vaping, alcohol and other drugs.
Confidentiality
Young people have the right to confidentiality when accessing health services.
Confidentiality means not talking to others about your personal stuff. The School Based Youth Health Nurse respects your privacy but there are some things the nurse must act upon. They will discuss this with you at your appointment.
How to access this service
Young people or parents/carer can self-refer or a referral can be made by school staff or a health professional.
