Work Experience
Work experience is a fantastic way to get a feel for a particular job or industry and can help navigate some great possibilities of your career. Kedron State High School students are able to participate in work experience during an agreed placement, either one day per week or during the school holidays in the student's chosen area of interest. In some circumstances, Work Experience can be continued up to a maximum of 30 days in a one-year period. Students must be at least 14 years old to undertake work experience and is unpaid.
Students are responsible for seeking out their own work experience placements. The Industry and Vocational Training Officer at school will then organise paperwork and approval for the placement, a Work Experience Agreement is completed with agreement and signatures by the Employer, the Student, the Parent/Guardian and the Principal. This Agreement allows the student to be covered by Workers Compensation during the period of the Work Experience and without this agreement, Work Experience cannot proceed.
If you are a business who is interested in offering work experience to our students please contact our VET team vet@kedronshs.eq.edu.au.
