Curriculum Overview
Middle School
In The Arts, all students will study a foundation unit of Art, Music and Drama during the year.
In Technology, all students will study a foundation unit of Information Technology, Home Economics and Design Technology during the year.
In Languages other than English [LOTE] all students will choose either French, Japanese, Chinese, Auslan or Multi Cultural Studies
In The Arts all students will study any two of Music, Art or Drama for one semester.
In Technology, all students will study any two of Business Education, Info Technology, Cooking, Textiles Graphics, Product Design & Manufacture, Workshop Practice for a semester
In LOTE students will study Japanese, French, Chinese, Auslan or additional Arts Subjects or additional Technology Subjects
In SOSE students study one of Geography, History or Study of Society and Environment
In Electives students chose any three of:-
Health and Physical Education, Music, Art, Drama, Business Education, Info Technology, Home Ec Cooking, Home Ec Textiles, Japanese, French, Graphics, Product Design & Manufacture, Workshop Practice
The middle school curriculum is based on the eight key learning areas associated with the national curriculum with the school developing work programs and work outlines based on the Queensland Studies Authority Syllabuses in each key learning area.
In years 8, the students study:-
English 4 periods per week
Mathematics 4 periods per week
Science 4 periods per week
SOSE 3 periods per week
HPE 3 periods per week
The Arts 3 periods per week
Technology 3 periods per week
LOTE 3 periods per week
Sport 1 period per week
In years 9, the students study:-
English 4 periods per week
Mathematics 4 periods per week
Science 3 periods per week
SOSE 3 periods per week
HPE 3 periods per week
The Arts 3 periods per week

LOTE 3 periods per week
Sport 1 period per week
In years 10, the students study:-
English 4 periods per week

Elective 1 3 periods per week
