Physical Education Department

The Health and Physical Education policy reflects our school motto: "To strive is to shine" where participation and effort in a variety of physical activities is emphasized throughout the junior school. Single gender classes in Years 9 and 10 are also established to further facilitate the participation of males and females in physical activity.

Students must be appropriately attired in full sports uniform for practical classes and are required to bring parental consent if there is any legitimate reason for non participation.

  • A variety of criteria based assessment instruments
  • Fitness testing with Heart Rate Monitors
  • Individual fitness/sports training programs

Features of the Senior School

  • Senior Physical Education (PED) Course is an OP eligible board subject
  • Senior PED theory and practical activities are integrated through participation in aquathlon, softball, aerobics and team handball
  • Senior Recreational Studies (REC) course is a school based subject for students interested in the Fitness/Recreation industry.
  • Senior REC involves students organizing and coaching Years 7 & 8 students in fitness and various sporting events
  • Senior REC includes participation of students in Bronze medallion, golf and other sports.
